1- If I am killed for the cause of Allah, will my sins be forgiven?

2- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to sleep at the beginning of the night and rise at its end to pray

3- None of you should fast on Friday, unless he fasts a day before it or a day after it

4- There is no emigration after the Conquest, but there is Jihad and good intention, and whenever you are called for Jihad, you should immediately respond to the call

5- A man asked the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about fasting while traveling. He answered: If you wish then fast, and if you wish then do not fast

6- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes get up at the time of Fajr while in a state of Janābah after having sexual intercourse with his wives, then he would take a ritual bath and fast

7- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting the two days: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Ad'ha; wearing a garment that is void of openings for hands; sitting on one’s buttocks while holding his both legs pulled back with his arms in case he wore only one garment; and praying after the Fajr and ‘Asr prayers

8- My close friend (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) advised me with three: fasting three days of every month, the two Rak‘ahs of Duha, and performing Witr before I sleep

9- When the night approaches from this side, and the day retreats from that side, then it is time for the fasting person to break his fast

10- Zakah is not due on what is less than five ounces, nor on what is less than five camels, nor on what is less than five Wasqs

11- O Messenger of Allah, I had vowed, before embracing Islam, to make I‘tikāf for one night – another narration reads: for one day – the Sacred Mosque. He said: Then fulfill your vow.

12- Fast when you see it, and break the fast when you see it, but if the sky is overcast and you cannot see it, then act on estimation

13- A man's prayer in congregation is twenty-something degrees higher than his prayer in his house and market

14- When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) missed prayer at night because of sickness or otherwise, he would pray twelve Rak‘ahs during the daytime

15- Whoever ate garlic or onion should keep away from us—or he said: from our mosque—and stay at home

16- "He is in Hellfire." The people then went to look at him and found in his place a cloak which he had stolen from the war booty

17- What if there was a river at the door of any of you wherein he takes a bath five times a day? Would there remain any of his filth?

18- We used to speak during prayer; a man would talk with his companion at his side in the prayer until [this verse] was revealed: {...And stand before Allah in devout obedience.} So we were commanded to keep silent, such that we were forbidden to talk

19- A solar eclipse occurred during the Prophet's lifetime and he sent someone to summon people for a congregational prayer. They gathered and he came forward and began the prayer by making Takbīr. He bowed four times and prostrated four times in two Rak‘ahs

20- At every part of the night, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prayed Witr: at its beginning, middle, and end. Finally he settled on performing Witr just before dawn

21- Command your children to pray when they are seven years old, and beat them for (not offering) it when they are ten, and separate them (boys and girls) in beds

22- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us, and we said: O Messenger of Allah, we have learned how to greet you, but how should we invoke the blessings of Allah upon you?

23- The prayer of the one who did not recite the Opening of the Book (Surat al-Fātihah) is invalid

24- Whoever takes a bath on Friday, like the bath taken from sexual impurity, and then goes (to the mosque) is like the one who offers a camel as a sacrifice

25- 'Whoever of you comes to attend the Friday prayer, let him take a shower

26- Whoever attends a funeral until he offers the funeral prayer will get a reward equal to one Qirāt; and whoever attends it until the dead person is buried will get a reward equal to two Qirāts. It was asked: What are the two Qirāts? He replied: Like two huge mountains

27- He who performs ablution properly and then comes to the Friday prayer and listens to it attentively and keeps silent, his sins between that Friday and the following Friday will be forgiven, with the addition of three more days

28- Whoever goes to the mosque in the morning or the evening, Allah has prepared an abode for him in Paradise every time he goes in the morning or the evening

29- Whoever passes through any of our mosques or markets with arrows with him, he should hold them by their heads lest he injures any of the Muslims with them

30- O people, spread the greeting of peace, feed others, maintain kinship ties, and pray at night when people are asleep, and you will enter Paradise in peace

31- O Messenger of Allah, who is the best among people?

32- When the Imām says amen, you too say amen, for whoever says amen at the same time the angels say amen will have his previous sins forgiven

33- He who gives in charity the value of a date which was lawfully earned, and Allah only accepts that which has been lawfully earned, then Allah will accept it with His right hand and nurture it for him, just as one of you nurtures his foal, until it becomes like a mountain

34- Those who can afford marriage should marry, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and guarding chastity. He who cannot afford it should fast, for indeed it serves as a restraint for him

35- If any of you leads the people in prayer, let him shorten it, because among them are the weak, the sick, and the busy. If any of you prays alone, then let him prolong (his prayer) as much as he wishes

36- Whenever the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) appointed a man to lead an army or a military detachment, he would advise him to fear Allah and treat well those Muslims who are with him

37- The Imām is appointed so that he should be followed; so, do not act differently from him. When he makes Takbīr all of you should say it after him; bow when he bows; say "O our Lord, all praise be to You" when he says: Allah hears the one who praises Him; prostrate when he prostates; and all of you should pray sitting when he prays sitting

38- The difference between our fasting and the fasting of the People of the Book is the Suhūr meal

39- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was the most generous of people, and he used to be more generous than ever in Ramadan when Gabriel (Jibrīl) would meet him

40- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) would not fast in any month more than he did in Sha‘bān

41- He who prays before sunrise and before sunset will not enter Hellfire

42- If I were to live till the next year, I would definitely fast the ninth day

43- No Muslim person who, when an obligatory prayer becomes due, perfects its ablution, humility, and bowing except that it becomes an expiation for the sins that preceded it as long as he has not committed a major sin, and this applies to all times

44- There are certain things, the sayer of which – or the performer of which – after every prescribed prayer will never be disappointed: Tasbīh (saying 'Subhānallāh') thirty-three times, Tahmīd (saying 'Al-hamdulillāh') thirty-three times, and Takbīr (saying 'Allāhu Akbar') thirty-four times

45- He who feeds a fasting person will earn the same reward as him

46- Whoever says upon hearing the muezzin: 'Ash-hadu alla ilāha illallāh wahdahu la sharīka lah wa anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasūluh, radītu billāhi rabban, wa bi Muhammadin rasūlan wa bil Islāmi dīna (I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone without any partner and that Muhammad is His slave and messenger. I am pleased with Allah as a Lord, with Muhammad as a messenger, and with Islam as a religion), his sins will be forgiven)

47- Madīnah is a sanctuary from ‘Ayr to Thawr (mountains). Whoever innovates something new (in religion) or shelters an innovator in it will incur the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people, and Allah will accept from him neither an obligatory nor a supererogatory prayer on the Day of Resurrection

48- Whoever learned archery then forsook it, is not one of us, or he said: he has indeed disobeyed

49- Whoever dies without having fought (in the cause of Allah) or having thought of fighting (in the cause of Allah) will die while having one of the qualities of hypocrisy

50- No owner of gold or silver who does not pay what is due on it except that on the Day of Judgment they will be made for him sheets of fire

51- There is none among you except that Allah will speak to him, with no interpreter between Him and him

52- There is no day on which Allah sets free more of His slaves from Fire than the Day of ‘Arafah. He verily draws near, then He boasts about them before the angels saying: What do these people want?

53- Its water is purifying, and its dead animals are lawful

54- If the water is two pitchers, it will bear no impurity

55- He who drinks in a vessel (made) of gold or silver has, in fact, swallowed in his stomach fire from Hell

56- Were it not that I would cause difficulty for my followers, I would command them to use the tooth-stick with every prayer

57- If any of you wakes up from his sleep, let him blow water out of his nose three times, as the devil spends the night on his nostrils

58- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was performing ablution; he rinsed his mouth thrice and blew water out of his nose thrice. He then washed his face thrice and his right and left forearms thrice, then he took more water and wiped over his head, and then he washed his feet until he cleaned them

59- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and passed a wet hand on his forelock, over the turban, and over the two leather socks

60- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to run the water around his elbows while performing ablution

61- The prayer of a person who does not perform ablution is invalid, and the ablution of a person who does not mention the name of Allah is invalid

62- A man performed ablution and left a small part on his foot equal to the size of a nail unwashed. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) saw that and said: "Go back and perform your ablution properly." He performed it again and prayed

63- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to take a ritual bath with one Sā‘ up to five Mudds, and he used to perform ablution with one Mudd

64- There is no Muslim who performs ablution well and then stands and prays two Rak‘ahs while focused on them with his heart and his face, except that Paradise will be guaranteed for him

65- I saw the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) wiping over the top of his leather socks

66- If any of you makes ablution and puts on his leather socks, let him pray while having them on, and let him wipe over them without taking them off, if he wishes, except in the state of Janābah (major ritual impurity)

67- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) kissed some of his wives, and then went out for prayer without making ablution

68- Is it not but a piece of him

69- You praised this, so Paradise has been affirmed for him, and you dispraised this, so Hell has been affirmed for him. You are Allah's witnesses on earth

70- If you had been from this city, I would have inflicted pain on you. You raise your voices in the Prophet's Mosque

71- O people, you eat two plants that I only find offensive: onion and garlic

72- After becoming pure (from menstruation), we would not consider brownish and yellowish discharges to be of any significance

73- Wait for as long as your menstrual period normally stops you, and then take a ritual bath

74- If any of you has sexual intercourse with his wife and then wished to have intercourse again, then let him perform ablution between the two times

75- Whoever performs ablution on Friday, that is good, and whoever takes a bath has done what is better

76- Taking a bath on Friday is obligatory for every pubescent male Muslim, and cleaning the teeth with the tooth-stick and applying perfume if available

77- Beware of the two things that provoke cursing. They said: O Messenger of Allah, what are those two things which provoke cursing? He said: The one who relieves himself on people’s roads or in their shade

78- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) fasted on the Day of ‘Āshūrā'

79- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to sleep while in a state of Janābah without touching water

80- When it is Friday, the angels stand at the door of the mosque and keep on writing the names of those coming in order of their arrival

81- When the son of Adam recites a verse of prostration and then falls down in prostration, the devil retreats, weeps, and says: Woe unto him, the son of Adam was commanded to prostrate, and he prostrated, so Paradise is for him. However, I was commanded to prostrate, but I refused to, so the Fire is for me

82- No woman should travel on a two-day-distant journey except with her husband or a Mahram

83- Three hours the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to forbid us from praying or burying our deceased ones in them

84- Whoever says upon hearing the call: O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and the prayer that is to be established, grant Muhammad Al-Wasīlah and Al-Fadīlah and resurrect him to the Praiseworthy Station that You have promised him, he will be granted my intercession on the Day of Judgment

85- Allah does not accept the prayer of any woman who has reached the age of menstruation unless [she is] veiled

86- None of you should pray in a single garment with nothing on his shoulders

87- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray on his riding animal, regardless of the direction it was facing. When he wanted to perform an obligatory prayer, he would dismount and face the Qiblah

88- When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was on a journey and wished to offer voluntary prayers, he made his she-camel face the Qiblah, said Takbīr, and then prayed towards whatever direction his mount would face

89- All of the earth is a mosque (prayer place) except the graveyard and the bathroom

90- Tasbīh is for the men, and clapping is for the women

91- If anyone of you is praying behind something that conceals him from people and somebody tries to pass in front of him, he should push him away; if he refuses, the praying person should use force against him for he is a devil

92- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade praying with one's hands on one's waist

93- When one of you stands to pray, he is privately conversing with his Lord, or his Lord is between him and the prayer direction. So let no one of you spit in the direction of prayer, but only to his left or under his feet

94- Take this curtain of yours away, for its images come to my mind while I'm praying

95- What is the matter with some people who raise their eyes towards the sky during their prayer?" He went on, using strict words, until he said, "They must stop that, or their eyesight will be snatched away

96- Yawning inside the prayer is from the devil, so if anyone of you yawns, let him suppress it as much as he can

97- Spitting in the mosque is a sin and its expiation is to bury it

98- I have not been ordered to build lofty mosques

99- Perhaps you recite behind your Imām? We said: Yes, that is so, O Messenger of Allah. He said: Do not do so except with Sūrat al-Fātihah, since the prayer is invalid for the one who does not recite it
